To be color blind doesn’t mean that you see the world in black and white, the term mean that there is a lack of some colors or that you are mixing some colors.
8.5% of men are colorblind and about 1% of women seem to have the same problem. There are in each eye approximately 120 million rods distributed over the major part of the retina . The strips are approximately 100 times more sensitive to light than the cones. These cones distinguish different colors. The 7 million cells contained in these differences help us to color.
Possible causes may be found in a chromosome, in adition or loss of a gene or simply hereditary.
